A Little Announcement!

As this Christmas Season is approaching I hope everyone remembers the reason for the Season!

I just wanted to share a little news about our family of three!  We will be adding on in July!!

I am prego with number 2!  I was waiting until our first ultrasound to announce and I wanted to make a cute picture with little girl but I couldn't hold it in any longer!

If you have noticed I haven't been online as much just because I have definitely felt the nausea and have just not felt like doing much at all besides keeping up and playing with little girl.  I have been feeling so tired this time which I do not remember at all the first time around!

We are so excited to see and experience a second child coming into the world.  My midwife is considering me high risk because of my weight which I am a little sad about and she also is wanting me to take baby asprin starting at 12 weeks to prevent blood clots.  I am doing research on this because I really don't like taking medicine.  So if any of you have done this I would love to know!  Also, baby number 2 will be most likely another c-section.  I was torn about this at first but the way my pelvis is (And my mom tried a V-Bac with my younger sister after me and failed)  That I am pretty much okay with it for now but we  have time to think about it.

Thank you all for reading!

Nocciolata Organic Hazelnut Spread from Rigoni di Asiago USA Review and Giveaway

I love Hazelnut spread and most of the time I find myself wanting something sweet at home and we do not normally keep sweets in the house.  We always have a jar of Nutella but I have something even better to share with you!  It is an organic version (not even comparable) with only a few simple ingredients called Nocciolata!

Just a little about the company Rigoni di Asiago is a family based company that has been around over 90 years the company has offices and production based in Italy.  You can read more on the company here.

Normally, I just have mine on a piece of fruit that way I feel like I am still eating healthy (with the addition of chocolate :)!

It was so rich and creamy and had a very fresh taste of hazelnut which I love!  I did see the recipes on the Rigoni di Asiago USA Facebook page also on the Nocciolata site and I definitely would like to try some of them!

What I like about the Nocciolata spread:

-It is made with the freshest organic ingredients

-It is organic certified by the USDA standards

-It also has higher nutritional value

-The Great taste doesn't compare!

Overall, I loved the taste and can't wait to try it in a cookie recipe I found the other day!

You can connect with Rigoni di Asiago USA on Facebook and on their website.  You may purchase this and many other products they have including honey and specialty jams at the following stores and online shops.

Rigoni di Asiago USA has offered one reader the chance to win a box just like the one I received which includes two bottles of Nocciolata and other goodies!  Simply by entering below on the Giveaway Tools form.  This is open to the US only and you must be 18 or older.  The winner will be emailed and will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be drawn.

Seeds Now Winter Garden Update

It's almost been a month since starting this winter garden journey!  I just went to my dads house today to check under the tarp on my plants.  I wish I had taken a picture but there were tons of sprouts popping up from where we scattered the seeds left from where I had planted the pods.

The pods themselves don't seem to have grown too much.  I have not watered this but my dad has had tons of rain this past week with freezing rain in the mix which is why I wanted to check on it!  It was quite muddy!

This is a short update but I did want to update to let you all know they are still alive (Yay)!

Just like before I did receive my seeds from in exchange for my garden experience.

Milk Diapers Nursing Pads Review and Giveaway

Milk Diapers

My sister received the mentioned product for review and this is her own opinion.  This is a guest post.

Milk Diapers was created when Felicia Gowrylow had trouble with milk leaking after her first child, and found other nursing pads on the market to be unsatisfactory.   She sewed her own pads after her second child was born.  Over the past 30 years, she has redesigned and perfected the pattern and named them “Milk Diapers” due to them being made of non-treated cotton diaper fabrics.

I was sent the Sampling 8 pad pack of nursing pads to review.  It included moisture guard, 5 layer natural, 4 layer white, and white lace pads.  They all have a patented crossover dart, which contours to the breast, causing them to lay flat under clothing.  Overall, I was really pleased with all of the styles.

Moisture Guard- This was the most absorbent pair.   I found them to be great for overnight use.  It is a 5 layer white pad with a terry backed polyurethane laminate and has a diameter of 4 ¾- 4 7/8”.  It is also topped with a cream lace to make it pretty.   And let’s face it, who doesn’t need to feel more sexy when you’re leaking?!

5 Layer Natural- This was my favorite pair because the fabric seemed to be more soft than the others, and they were very absorbent.  It has 5 layers of fabric; 100% unbleached cotton birdseye cloth and 100% unbleached cotton flannel cloth.

4 Layer White- This pair is made with 4 layers of 100% cotton birdseye cloth and 100% cotton flannel.  The average diameter is 4 7/8”.   These worked well for daytime use.

White Lace- This is simply the 4 layer white pad topped with white lace.

All of the nursing pads are breathable and comfortable to wear.  A moistened pad will dry while wearing, however, if it becomes soaked, it needs to be changed.  An itchy pad indicates too much dried milk.  Caring for the pads is simple: wash and dry with regular laundry.

Milk Diapers offers a variety of nursing pad packs, so you can choose one to suit your needs.  They also have some nursing bras to choose from.

Check them out at their Website and if you go on their Facebook page you will find a coupon!
Milk Diapers Nursing Pads is giving away the same set of pads to one winner!  To enter simply fill out the Giveaway Tools form below.  This is open to US and you must be 18 or older.  The winner will be notified by email and will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be drawn.

The product reviewed was in exchange for my sisters honest opinion.  Mommy Miranda is not responsible for prize fulfillment.

Yummi Pouch Review

Yummi Pouch sent me products to review and this is my opinion of them!

If you have been following me you will know how I love the concept of reusable food pouches for my daughter.  I like that fact that you can make your own food or buy larger quantities of organic applesauce or yogurt (both of which we always keep in the fridge)!  The cost is also a major factor for me in using these type of pouches.  Sometimes the organic single serve from the store in our area are around $1.00-$1.50 or sometimes more.
What I like about the Yummi Pouch:
-You can easily fill the pouch with a spoon
-My daughter can hold it herself
-They are easy to clean you can either throw it in the dishwasher or hand wash (I used a bottle brush to make for easy cleaning)
-They are freezer safe.  This is great for busy moms as you can make food ahead to take places and freeze then just pull out whenever you need it!
-They are BPA and Phthalate free as well as recyclable
For my review I was sent three different sizes of pouches to try out!

The YP Sport is the blue color and these hold up to 10oz so they are rather large but are great for freezing batches of food or for older kids on the go (I think my hubby would even use this)!  The zipper is on the top.
The middle picture are the Yummi Pouch Brights (hence the pretty colors) they hold up to 6oz. and these also come in all white.  Like the blue YP sport these also zip on top making for easier filling.
Lastly pictured are the Yummi Pouch Mini.  I probably like these the best because they only hold a snack size portion (2.5oz.) and are great for small hands.  These have the mouth spout on top which little girl is used to and the zipper is on the bottom.
How did little girl do with them?

If you look closely at this picture you will see a tear...she had a slight melt down before this because I didn't get the yogurt in fast enough for her!  Ernie and her pouches made it all better!  To fill the Yummi Pouch Mini I simply opened the bottom and spooned in the yogurt and sealed it!

This is the Yummi Pouch Bright and as you can see I used our yogurt again!  I do like the fact that these stand up once you start to fill them.  It took little girl a second to figure out the spout was on the side but once she did she was happy!

Overall, we are pleased with these pouches that Yummi Pouch sent us.  The Yummi Pouch website is full of recipes and tips on making your own food and how to clean with ease.  I like that you are saving money buy only buying pouches once and refilling them.
You can connect with Yummi Pouch several ways including:

For Your Bug-a-Boo Toy Review and Santa's Little Helper Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the Santa's Little Helper Giveaway Hop, hosted by Viva Veltoro and So Easy Being Green!
We all know that everyone could use a little help around the Holidays, so for this Event I've teamed up with over 50 other bloggers to be your Santa's Little Helper... giving away prizes that anyone would want to see under the tree! You might find the perfect gift for a little one on your list - or even for yourself, so hop around to all the blogs, including the GRAND PRIZE, on the linky at the bottom of this post!

Happy Holidays!

For this giveaway hop I will be reviewing a toy from For Your Bug-a-Boo.  It is an online shop that is full of cloth diapers, baby bath care items, organic baby bedding, organic baby clothing, cloth diapers, natural baby feeding accessories, or organic baby shower gifts, and more!  You can read more about them on their About Me page!
Of course this toy is for Christmas but I had to go ahead and let little girl open it!  Honestly, she is still too young to know if Santa came or not.
For my review I got to choose which toy I wanted to review (how awesome:) so I picked something that could help her learn numbers and colors!  The Rainbow Numbers stacking wooden toy.
Below is information from the For Your Bug-a-Boo website:

Rainbow Numbers Stacking Toy

This colorful educational toy will help teach children how to count and recognize colors. Comes with 15 doughnut shaped blocks in 5 bright rainbow colors to be stacked up on 5 colored rods!

Size: 3 3/4 x 10 x 4 3/8 in

For Ages:  2 years and older

About the Manufacturer:

Voila toys are carefully designed to stimulate children’s imagination as well as to support their physical and mental development. Voila toys are also well crafted, with attractive colors, and are made with safe, non-toxic materials.
What I like about this toy is that it is safe to use not like a lot of our plastic overseas products.  I also love how it is a learning tool and will help little girl with her colors and numbers!
How did little girl like it?  She could hardly wait for me to open the box when the Mail Man arrived!
She has been playing with it everyday since we got it!  I have to help her get the colors on right and sometimes she just doesn't quite get the hang of it yet but it is fun trying!  The numbers coordinate with the amount of stackable rings per color.
Overall, the customer service I received at For Your Bug-a-Boo was fantastic and as are all of their products!  I am wanting the Spuds Seedling Gift Set for little girl as well!  We really need some plates and utensils that are safe and that she can eat on without breaking.
For the giveaway the winner will receive a $30 Gift Certificate to help with Christmas time!  You can spend it on what ever you want (pretty awesome)!!
The giveaway is open to residents of the US and 18 or older.  To enter simply fill out the Giveaway tools form below.  The winner will be emailed and will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be drawn.  Mommy Miranda is not responsible for prize fulfillment.

Free to Give Thanks in Christ

This week is Thanksgiving and although many of us are always thankful we celebrate this time to truly give thanks for all that the Lord has blessed us with.  You can be blessed with anything and even the poor (according to this world) are truly blessed.  But, what I am going to be talking about is being thankful that we are free from death and sin if we belong to Christ Jesus!

Our pastor on Wednesday night gave the church a challenge that for just one day you would give thanks for anything that was going on that day good or bad in every situation.  Well, that day my check engine light came on and several other things happened but I had to remember what he said and really be thankful that I have a car and it normally gets me to where I need to go!

We are actually always supposed to give thanks to God.  When you sit down to a meal that is what you are doing thanking Him for provisions to eat and have clean water (which a lot of the world does not have).

We are always to be in prayer and as Paul says in Philippians:

Philippians 4:6

New King James Version (NKJV)
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

People have been offering thanksgiving throughout time:

Psalm 26:7
That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, And tell of all Your wondrous works.
Psalm 50:14
Offer to God thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High.
Psalm 69:30
I will praise the name of God with a song, And will magnify Him with thanksgiving.
These are examples of Sacrificial thanksgiving.  God really wants our hearts right and wants us to give Him thanks always.  I am always thankful for our bed at night because people who are homeless are always laid on my heart especially in the cold.
When you are free in Christ you are free to give thanks.  What this means is Gods grace has covered you if you have believed that Jesus Christ died and rose again and is returning for you one day!   You can rejoice and be thankful that God sent his Son to die for us!
I leave you with one other example...I fell this weekend and twisted my ankle pretty good!  When I went back to a waiting room I was talking with an older lady who was confined to a wheel chair.  I told her how I twisted my ankle and she so positively responded with, "Well honey at least you are blessed to be able to walk around."  It hit me and I was grateful she said that!  I was having my own little pity party and needed to be reminded that yes at least I can walk and use my legs normally!
Will you take the one day challenge?  For one day be thankful for every situation that the day brings!

Rockin' Green Auto Dish Detergent Review and Giveaway!
Today I am bringing you a Auto Dishwasher detergent review and giveaway from Rockin' Green Soap!  I received Samples for my review and my opinion is my own.
Normally, I have been using a homemade detergent when I do use the dishwasher.  But it has Borax and I am looking for an alternative solution.  Plus the fact that it does a horrible job and my dishes come out looking worse than they went in sometimes!
Funny story really quick...Hubby and I moved in our house when we got married and were told every appliance worked even though they were the ugly bugger green.  Well, one day I decided to try and use the dishwasher and it didn't work at all, the stove went next.  Fast forward to a year later and I was prego and wanting the stove fixed!  So long story short...the dishwasher worked the whole time!  I was so dingy that I didn't know to turn this one switch behind it on!  Duh!  Haha!
Okay on the Review!  Since many of you cloth diaper you are probably aware of the Rockin' Green Soap for laundry and other uses but if you haven't heard they do make this detergent as well!

Features of this Detergent from the Rockin' Green Website:

Grunge Core Technology: Let's face it, having to do the dishes sucks. Especially if you have to pre-rinse every dish by hand and then use an additional booster to get them sort of clean. Our grunge core technology targets your problem areas- be it baked on bologna or hard water headaches, we have you covered. Natural, fresh lemon scent. Same great eco-friendly qualities you trust from Rockin' Green!
    • Dye free
    • No Fillers
    • Cleans and protects
    • Eliminates unsightly water spots
    • No need to pre-rinse
    • Natural scrubbing agents
    • Non Toxic
    • Tackles burnt on food
    • Phosphate free
    • Easy rinsing formula
    • Recyclable packaging
    • Prevents mineral buildup
    • No cloudy film
    • Etch protection
    • Vegan & Gluten Free
    • Biodegradable
    • Naturally scented
    • Excellent in hard water - no need for boosters or rinse aids!
Lets face it, its so much easier to throw dishes in the dishwasher unless of course you have lots of pans like mine that can't be ran in the dishwasher!  Why not do it with one that is Non-Toxic?

I put it to the ultimate test!  I loaded up the dishwasher over the weekend and placed about 3 Tablespoons in the main wash compartment.  They came out sparkly and clean no spots and streaks (like the homemade detergent).

Overall, I am very pleased with this detergent and the fact that it does not have bad ingredients essentially going into our bodies like other soaps that leave toxic residue.

Rockin' Green has graciously given the opportunity for one reader to receive a full size bag of the Auto Dish Detergent 50 loads!

To enter use the giveaway tools form below and the giveaway is open to the US only and you must be 18 or older to enter.  The winner will be emailed after the giveaway and will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be drawn.

Mommy Miranda is not responsible for prize fulfillment and as stated above I received samples for my review and my opinion is totally my own!

Week 2 of my Seeds Now Garden Project

I have been patiently waiting for my seeds to sprout in the pods provided by the Seedsnow company.  I don't have much of a green thumb so I am really hoping I did not water them too much or not enough?!

It only took a few days by the window inside and they were beginning to sprout!  I was so excited!  On the directions for the pods you are just to keep them moist and in a sunny warm area.  Just about all of them were sprouted before I planted today.  Only three of them did not sprout but I had to go ahead because we had one 70 degree day and then a cold front hit again today!  (only in NC:)

My dad decided it would be best if he tilled up a spot on his land for me to plant my garden.  The soil here in NC in our area is quite like red clay almost.  It had just rained so made it an especially good day to plant.  Little girl even decided to help and she had lots of fun!

I had seeds leftover so we sowed them in the ground by just tossing them in the soil.  I did not add anything to the dirt as far as fertilizer so we will see how that goes.

Finally, we covered the garden with a heavy plastic for these cold winter days.  Around it we placed big rocks that my dad has pilled up from tilling the ground.

This was so much fun to get started.  Now we just have to be patient and wait to see how it grows!

Thanks for reading and look for another post in a week or two!

Thank you to for sending me the mentioned products.  This is of course my own opinion and yours may be different than mine.  They sent me the above mentioned products in exchange for a review otherwise no compensation went into this post!

The Little Bee Co. Diaper Review and Giveaway

When I found about The Little Bee Co. and that they donate a diaper for each diaper sold I really wanted to try these diapers out!  The Little Bee Co. sent me a diaper in exchange for my opinion.

Just a little about their mission to give diapers to children in need from their website:

Our "bee changed and change the world" mission is our core: 'For each diaper purchased The Little Bee Co. will donate a diaper to an orphan in need'. Along with providing a quality diaper, our passion is to help children in need and bring an awareness to the orphan crisis consuming the world today.
    Why Diapers?
Orphans, especially those in 3rd world countries, do not have proper diapering available. A large number of orphanages use split pants, rags or often times no diaper at all. These precious babies find themselves in unhealthy and unsanitary conditions that cause an already bad situation to be far worse.
The diapers shipped to each orphan enable a healthier diapering system and a comfort they may otherwise never receive. Our mission is our core “bee changed and change the world”. Together we can make a difference.
Go HERE to see more information about their "Diaper Drops".
For my review I chose the African Rain diaper in Bee Changed Microsuede pocket OS.  I love the color of this diaper!  At the time I didn't know that the color actually represented something!  After more research, I did learn that each color of diaper represents a different country.  You can read more about each specific color on their website.  African Rain is designed with the children of Africa in mind.  Often there is little to no clean drinking water in some regions of the country and the children pray for rain.  What a blessing this company is!

    What I love
-When I received my diaper it also came with a sample of the detergent Bee Clean (one load).

-The diaper's have front elastic to make for a great fit!  The Bee Changed information page has great tips on how to prep and get the right fit.

-There are two rows of snap downs offering a better fit to grow with.  When we used both inserts I did not snap down at all.  With only the smaller insert I did snap down one row.  Just to give you an idea little girl is 21 months old and 25lbs.

-Two inserts included and they snap together-One is larger and fold's down as you can see below.

-This makes for great absorbency.  These are microfiber but they also offer a set of 55% Hemp/45% Organic Cotton Double Insert Set ($8) This would be great if you have a heavy wetter and offers less bulk.

-There are two snaps on each side.  Normally, there would be wing droop but I am not finding that the case with this diaper!

Overall, we are really enjoying this diaper and the quality behind it.  The mission of The Little Bee Co. is encouragement enough to buy alone!  I love that they are a Christian based company and one of the verses quoted on the site is, "James 1:27 "Religion that God our Father accepts as Pure and Faultless is to care for orphans..."  We are as Christians supposed to take care of orphans and I love this concept of giving!

You can purchase diapers, cloth pads (Also one for one, they donate to women in need!) and detergent on their website.

You can find The Little Bee Co. on Facebook.

The Little Bee Co. has offered one reader a diaper of their choice from an in stock item!  To enter below use the Giveaway Tools entry form.  This is open to US readers 18 or older.  The winner will be contacted by email and will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be drawn.

I was given a diaper in exchange for my personal opinion.  My thoughts were not influenced at all.  Mommy Miranda is not responsible for prize shipment.

Thank you for reading and you may enter below! <3

Little Girl is Growing up! Naturepedic Toddler Pillow Review and Giveaway!

Little girl just turned 21 months old and is talking up a storm now!  She is also almost ready for her bed to be converted into the toddler size (but I am not pushing this yet).  While she is getting ready to make the transition I wanted her to start getting used to sleeping on one side of her crib.

While we are trying to go more green I found a company called Naturepedic that offers Made In USA organic bedding, mattresses, and much more for the whole family!  They sent me a toddler pillow and a pillowcase in exchange for my review.

    About Naturepedic from their website:

Naturepedic specializes in the design and manufacturing of quality organic mattresses for infants, toddlers, children and adults that promote natural and organic materials, a non-toxic design, fire-safety, and overall health & safety.

You can read more and learn about Naturepedic and how it got started here.

As soon as the pillow arrived little girl must have known it was for her!  Here is the package I was sent:

The pillow is a PLA Junior Pillow:
The outer is made with organic cotton and the inside is made with PLA.  This is new to me it is basically a fiber made from plant products such as corn and potatoes then turned into a new type of polyester.  You can read more here.
Things that I love about this pillow:
-It is non-toxic and that is good considering it will be slept on for half of little girl's day (12 hours if were lucky:)
-The fibers in the PLA wick moisture
-It is washable (a plus with bedwetting ect.)
-It is made in the USA!
The pillowcase is made from 100% Organic Cotton and fits just perfectly on top of the pillow giving it a perfect finish!
Overall, I am really pleased with this pillow and the joy that it has brought to little girl.
I am glad for her to have her own pillow.  She gets so excited and its even a bit easier to lay her down now.  I just say, "Show me how you lay on your pillow!"  And she actually wants to go into her crib!!
You can see many more products they have on their website.  And you can connect with Naturepedic on  Facebook and Twitter.
Naturepedic has offered one of my readers the same Junior PLA Pillow and Pillowcase!
To enter simply fill out the Giveaway Tools form.  This is open to the US readers 18 or older.  The winner will be emailed and will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be drawn.
Other than receiving a free sample of the product from Naturepedic, I was not paid for any of the opinions or reviews expressed on this blog.  Mommy Miranda is not responsible for prize fulfillment.

Is your baby growing fast into a toddler?  I would love to hear some ways you have made the transition easy from crib to toddler bed!

Lil' Cheeky Soft Sole Shoe Review and a Giveaway!

I was surprised to win some Soft Sole Shoes for little girl recently from a WAHM shop called Lil' Cheeky!

Because these are all hand made and made to order, I was able to pick my own fabric and I chose one with animals on it because little girl is really into naming animals!
    How adorable are these?!
Needless to say little girl thinks she is cool stuff with these on and I can hardly get her to take them off to put on real shoes when we go out!
Here is just a little info about the shoes from Lil' Cheeky's Etsy site:
These are made to order and can be made in sizes: NB, 0-6 months (Size 1), 6-12 months (Size 2), 12-18 months (Size 3) and 18-24 months (Size 4). I also can make size 5 and 6. The inside is lined with super soft minky and the bottom is made of white non-slip material.
What I love is the soft insides, the adorable fabric, and the non-slip bottoms!
Just a little more about Lauren the WAHM behind Lil' Cheeky:
I love making and creating things! Sewing is my passion and I love trying new patterns. My grandmothers taught me how to sew and the time learning with them was so precious. I hope sewing becomes more popular with younger generations like me!
Her shop includes not only these adorable shoes but also matching sets, Cloth Diapers, and matching sets and a few more creative things!
Here are some other cute selections she has:
You can shop from Lil' Cheeky on Etsy, Facebook, Hyena Cart and she even has a B/S/T chat group on Facebook that you can join to know the latest happenings!
There is a special on her Etsy site for the month of November!  You can go here to see it and buy yourself something!
Now for the good stuff!  Lauren has offered one reader a gift code for $10 towards her shop with a purchase of $20 or more!!

Winter Garden Project with Non-GMO seeds!

Day 1 of my Garden project from

We are trying to live a more green lifestyle and buying organic food is becoming increasingly expensive!  Also, I believe that we need to be more self sufficient when it comes to food because there may be a day where we can no longer go to the store for everything!

While my dad is an avid gardener and has lots of land we live in the city and have a good size lot but nothing to boast about!  For this project I haven't decided whether I am going to plant here or on his land.  My original thought was to plant in buckets, more to come!

For my selection I had to go to the SeedsNow website and check for my region and what could grow during this time.  If you are curious you can go HERE to see what region you live in and what you could plant along with me!

Before I started planting my seeds I did lots of research on their site and this post was very informative:  14 Steps to Growing Organic Food

    What exactly is GMO?

I think the SeedsNow website explains it best and you can see the full page with videos here:

What I received from were the following packets of seeds:
    1.  Lettuce-Winter Density
    2.  Collard-Georgia Southern
    3.  Cabbage-Copenhagen
    4.  Broccoli-Romanesco
    5.  Cauliflower-All Year Long
    6.  Kale-Blue Curled Scotch
    7.  Broccoli-Calabrese
    8.  Spinach-Bloomsdale

I also received the Seed Starting Soil Pellets in a 25 count bag!  These seem easy to use.  Basically, you just add water and they puff up absorbing the water and giving you a place to start your seeds inside.  So I did just that today!  See the picture below!

The starter pellets require sun and warm so I placed them near a window that gets a full day of sun at our house.  It says wait 7-10 days and keep them moist.  I placed mine in a glass baking dish so I can just pour the water in each day!
I am so excited to grow our own food that will be organic and GMO free!
This is going to be an ongoing series where I will hopefully document at least every one to two weeks!  Do you have a garden?  I would love for you to share tips and tricks!
My husband wants to put a fish under each plant (which we have) so we will see!
My next post should include prepping the ground for transplanting!

    Thanks for reading!

Thank you to for sending me the mentioned products.  This is of course my own opinion and yours may be different than mine.  They sent me the above mentioned products in exchange for a review otherwise no compensation went into this post!

Hazelaid Baltic Amber Neclace Review and Gift Code Giveaway!

A local cloth diapering mama introduced me to the Hazelaid brand from Canada and I want to share my experience's with you!  For this review and giveaway Hazelaid has provided me with a gift code for two necklaces and I have purchased the gift code to giveaway!

A little about the Hazelaid Company:

We first were introduced to hazelwood necklaces in early 2008.  Eczema had overtaken the poor little body of our then three month old daughter and we had been trying in vain to help her.  Nothing worked, so when a friend of ours mentioned these necklaces to us, we were skeptical but willing to try anything.

Her baby son had been on medication to help with severely painful acid reflux.  Eventually her mother sent her a hazelwood necklace, and within two weeks of him wearing it he no longer exhibited any symptoms!  Our friend carefully took him off his medicine with no ill effects and he had been fine ever since!

So when she told us the good news and mentioned that the necklaces were supposed to help with eczema as well, we dove in and ordered for our whole family.  Sure enough, within two weeks our daughter's eczema cleared up entirely, and we've never looked back.

The only times it comes back is when we take off her necklace to go swimming and forget to put it back on (oops!) or when the necklace is saturated and has absorbed all the acid it can. When that happens (every few months or so), we put on a new one and within a few hours to a day her eczema is gone again. We also benefited from how helpful it was in soothing teething pain for both our son and our youngest daughter.

UPDATE - As of today, she no longer has a breakout when we take off the necklace!  We’re not sure if it was something her body grew out of, if there was a change in diet, or if the necklace eventually brought lasting balance to her system.  She still wears one (as we all do) most of the time, but we no longer worry about her having to rush to put it back on. :)

Eventually we were so overcome by the effects of these products that in April of 2008 we launched to make them available to more people and get the word out.  Since then we have received a flood of emails from people telling us they had tried so many things to heal their various issues (eczema, teething, acid reflux, heartburn, headaches) and nothing has worked as well for them as these products!  And they are so thankful for a treatment that doesn't include pumping their bodies (and the bodies of their little ones) full of unnecessary and possibly harmful medicines, but instead to be able to treat these issues naturally and effectively.

In February, 2010, Hazelaid moved operations to Montreal, Quebec.  We have since expanded our product lines to include TheAmberIsland Collection as well as our listings on

Today we carry 450+ unique Hazelwood, Baltic Amber, Magnetic, Herbal Ointment, and Soap Nut Products!

    My Review:

For review purposes and to get a better idea of how amber works on different people I have purchased two necklaces one for a church friend and one for my mom.  I wanted someone who could actually tell me how they are working!

With two different pain stories the necklaces both of them could tell a difference.  Both ladies (which are both over 50) have worn the necklaces for almost a month.  Little girl has worn hers now for a few months.

Below is the Baltic Amber Honey necklaces that I purchased for all three reviews
    (different sizes of course):
    Product info:
USE: Effective for teething, drooling, and other pain relief.  Must be placed directly on the skin.  We recommend moving necklaces to the upper leg during naps and at night for very young children. Baltic amber is meant to be worn, NOT chewed!

    STRENGTH: 8 out of 10

CONSTRUCTION: Made with plastic amber colored screw clasp and string knotted between each bead.

VARIANCE: Typical bead size 3-4mm, most necklaces taper slightly in bead diameter towards the ends.  As always exact bead color and shape can vary slightly.  These are handmade, length is within 1/2 inch.

    POLISH: Full

CARE: Keep away from soaps and oils, clean with plain water.

NOTE: No child under the age of three should wear a necklace without adult supervision.  Product may be worn around the leg during naps and night.
    The Results
My mom said that she could feel a difference both in her neck/back pain when around her neck and when she doubled around her wrist (where she has greater pain) she could tell significant difference.  If she did take it off she would notice a difference in pain in not having it on.

Mrs. Mary from Church told me that in her case her pain is so severe (she was seeking treatment from a Doctor from a terrible pain that went from her neck down her back) that it was still there but she could really tell a difference when she had her necklace on!  And that wearing it has helped her to function a little more normal.

We have had this same Baltic amber necklace for little girl and it has helped with teething!  How can I be sure?  She just cut her back molars and I didn't even know!  Her other teeth have been really bad on her.  Since she is under 3 as the website states I take her necklace off at bed time and nap time!  I do not recommend leaving it on when they are not being watched!

Also, as a rule you must remove the amber before getting in any type of wet situation!

Now that you have heard about the different experiences with Baltic Amber from Hazelaid you can purchase your items at and they have much more than just amber!

For my readers Hazelaid has offered a 10% off code Miranada10 -there is not a set expiration and not a set amount of uses so you can use as many times as you like!  I am really liking the look of the  Lemon Rose-Quartz necklace for little girl!   *This code is only good for the Hazelaid website and not for their products on Amazon as they are already set on a discount.

You can also connect with Hazelaid on Facebook//Twitter//Pinterest.

One of my readers will win a gift code worth $15.00!  This giveaway is open to US and Canada to readers 18 and over.  Canadian winners will be required to answer a skills question upon winning.  Note:  Readers will most likely have to add their own money to the gift code in order to purchase.

The giveaway will end November 25th and to enter simply fill out the form on Giveaway Tools.  The winner will be selected randomly using Giveaway tools and they will be emailed and have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be drawn.  Mommy Miranda is not responsible for prize shipment or any monetary value except the gift code mentioned.

As mentioned before I was sent a coupon code to purchase my own product.  The opinions mentioned are all of those who wore the necklaces and my own and were in no way influenced.  Your opinion may be different than mine.

Thank you for reading!  Have you found that amber helps your little one or hazelwood?  I would love to know!
