Newmans Own Organics Review and Giveaway

We are trying to live a lifestyle that is more organic.  I try to only buy organic especially for little girl.  I was doing a search for organic chocolate and came across Newman's Own Organics.  Not only do they have an organic chocolate line they have a vast variety of foods and snacks, olive oil, and even pet food!

Newman's Own Organics started as a branch off from Newman's Own company in 1993 and later split to establish their own company in 2001.  The founders Nell Newman and Peter Meehan seek to create great tasting organic products that people love!  Nell knows that people are wanting more and more to know where their food came from and are looking for organic products.

That is true for us as with many of you probably!  Organic as well as local food is becoming more important for a lot of people.  I want to tell you about the products that Newman's Own Organics graciously gave us to try!

What we received:

Fig Newmans™ in the Fat Free, these were my husbands favorite.  In fact, he opened the box before I even got home and it was half empty!  These were created by the help of the Kraft corporation and partnership except the ingredients which are listed
here are based on organic ingredients.  They come in a Fat Free, Wheat Free and Dairy Free.

Newman-O's- These come in six delicious flavors!  We received the Chocolate Crème and the Hint-O-Mint and our favorite were the mint.  These did not last long at all!
Hermits- These are a soft cookie made from ingredients such as organic molasses (anything with molasses is good in my book), organic raisins, and many other yummy things!  We had the privilege to try the ginger flavor and they were a hit…even with little girl!

Alphabet Cookies- We tried these in the cinnamon graham flavor and while I was thinking little girl (20 months) could enjoy these they were a bit too crunchy for her.  The hubby and I are enjoying these!  They have a slight cinnamon taste, which I am a fan of.

Chocolate Cups- Actually these are the reason I even contacted Newman's Own Organics!  Yum!  Who wouldn't love organic (good for you) chocolate?!  Just a little more info about the chocolate cups from the website:

With three cups per 1.2 ounce package, there are five flavors to choose from: Peanut Butter in Dark Chocolate or Milk Chocolate, a delicious Dark Chocolate Peppermint Cup and a rich Caramel cup rounding out the selection in either Dark Chocolate or Milk Chocolate. All five carry Rainforest Alliance Certification. Both Caramel cups carry the USDA Seal.

I have to say that I am usually a peanut butter cup girl but after trying the milk chocolate caramel I was hooked!

Spelt Ginger Snaps- These were great!  Again, a little too crunchy for little girl, but hubby and I enjoyed them!  Like all of the Newman's Own Organics products these are certified organic by Oregon Tilth.
Pretzels- There are 10 different pretzel varieties to choose from.  For review purposes, we received the Spelt, Salted Sticks, Rods Thin Sticks, and the Mighty Mini's.  Generally, I feel pretzels are kind of plain, however I took a bag with me to my mom's house and she loved the Spelt!  The good thing about these pretzels is they are baked, so they won't take up many of your daily calories.  You can always use them to dip yummy stuff such as hummus or artichoke dip.

Dried Fruit- We received the berry blend and the dried cranberries.  To my surprise hubby opened these and had enjoyed almost the whole bag of berry blend saying that, "Annabelle really likes them."  Blaming it on our poor child!  All kidding aside, they were very good and the berry blend includes:

Organic Raisins, Dried Organic Cranberries(Organic Cranberries, Organic Sugar, Organic Sunflower Oil), Dried Organic Blueberries, (Organic Blueberries, Organic Sugar, Organic Sunflower Oil), Dried Organic Red Tart Cherries (Organic Red Tart Cherries, Organic Sugar, Organic Sunflower Oil)

These were great on salads as well tossed with greens and a vinaigrette dressing!

Mints- We received the Cinnamon Mints and when I saw the package it said HOT on the outside but they were actually quite refreshing.  I took these to work with me and shared them with my co-workers.  Everyone needs a fresh breath waiting on tables!  I accidentally left them at work, and a few days later they were gone.  Someone must have liked them!  They have several other flavors that I would love to try.
Licorice- These just aren't your normal licorice, with flavors such as Sour Mango and Pomegranate your taste buds are simply pleased.  And why wouldn't they be with the ingredient list such as this:

Pomegranate: Organic Wheat Flour, Organic Sugar, Corn Syrup, Organic Tapioca Syrup, Vegetable Glycerin, Sunflower Oil, Elderberry Extract, Citric Acid, Natural Flavor, Pomegranate Juice Concentrate, Licorice Root Extract.

To sum up Newman's Own Organics has a great line of goodies for the whole family.  I just mentioned a few, there are many other things on the
website you can visit and see for yourself.  You may also find them on Facebook and you can search here to find a retailer near you.

The best part of all, Newman's Own Organics has offered one of my readers a prize from our four favorite items!  For the giveaway I chose the winner to receive a variety pack that includes; the Chocolate Cups in Caramel, a bag of the Spelt Pretzels, the Hint-O-Mint cookies, and a bag of the berry blend dried fruit!  Newman's Own Organics just may throw in one other item!

To enter you must be 18 or older and a resident of the US only please as the food can not ship to other countries.  Mommy Miranda is not responsible for prize fulfillment and shipping.  The winner will be contacted via email used to enter on Giveaway Tools and will have 48 hours to respond to the winning email or another winner will be drawn.

I received the products mentioned in exchange for my honest opinion.  All opinions expressed are totally my own and yours may differ from mine.  Some of the images above are courtesy of the Newman's Own Organics website.
