Rogers Gourmet Coffee Company Review and Giveway

For those of you who do not know me personally, I want to let you in on a secret...I love coffee!  I drink about three cups daily!

I am excited to bring you all my review of Rogers Gourmet Coffee Company brand, The Organic Coffee Co.!  I was sent 4 boxes of OneCups to review which included a French Roast, Breakfast Blend, Java Love, and Gorilla Decaf.

Rogers Family Company is a family based company that was started 34 years ago.  They strive to provide the best coffee available.  The company started in a small space and expanded to now owning the farms where the coffee is grown!  Not only do they own farms, but they help the communities in which the farms are located.  See this link to learn more from the Rogers Family Company Website.  I feel great supporting a company who gives back to the community.

Being the coffee lover I am, I honestly have nothing bad to say about the coffee blends.  Here is my breakdown of the ones I tried:

GORILLA DECAF:  First of all, this does not taste like decaf.  The coffee is full of flavor.  It is actually a Regular Roast according to their roasting guide and it is a medium roast.  My husband had this first and he told me how good it was, I second that opinion!  I usually have a cup of coffee when I get home from work at night so this is a great option for me.  It still has the great taste of coffee without being too lite.  Also a great option for those pregnant or nursing who do not want much caffeine but need that boost of coffee in the morning!
FRENCH ROAST:  This was my personal favorite!  It has a Dark roast level and is very bold in flavor, which I love!  It is 100% organic as are all of the coffee's.  What's not to like?!

BREAKFAST BLEND:  This roast is a medium blend.  It is smooth tasting cup of coffee.  It is the perfect all around coffee to start your day with.
JAVA LOVE:  This is a blend of beans roasted medium to provide a well balanced cup of coffee.

The Organic Coffee Co.  OneCups are compatible with many single serve coffee brewers:  here is a list from the Rogers Family website. However, they are not affiliated with the Keurig company in any way.

One note about the OneCups themselves and how they are made and packaged.  They are 97% biodegradable, making them Earth Friendly!  I think this is awesome!  I have actually stopped buying single serve cups due to the cost and waste factor.

Their single serve OneCups do come in a "flavor-lock" bag and you have to either place them in a air tight container after breaking the seal or make sure the bag is closed back with a clip.  I guess this would be one drawback if you had a counter storage rack like I do.  It is not advised you do this because the bottom of the cup is exposed.

Overall, the price of The Organic Co. OneCups are the same or even less expensive than most single serve coffee you can buy in the store.  If you buy them in bulk they are definitely a money saver.  I love the flavor that each of these coffee blends have.  I think they have me hooked!

Buy it:  The price of the 12 pack as you see pictured is 6.99 and as a special you can get free shipping in 48 states of the US with orders over $50.00.  You can purchase directly from the website here.  You may also search the site to see if it is available at a market near you!

CC Dipes Review and Giveaway

I know we are all aware of big name brand diapers but buying local or supporting another family just like mine is very dear to me!  I want to talk about a company called CC Dipes.

CC Dipes is a WAHM company ran by Carie who makes cloth diapers.   She began making them after her daughter didn't nap well using the prefolds and covers.  She prides herself in making sure all of her diapers are top quality to her standards!

Carie sent me a bright orange diaper to review and I will share with you how much I like it!

For starters Carie shipped on a Friday and I received my package on that same Monday!

What I love about this diaper:

-The pocket is very easy to stuff.  Your hand does not get stuck.

-The pocket diaper has twelve snap settings across the front and two rows of snap downs to adjust to the size you need.  You can also fold over for tiny babies!

-The inserts are made from 3 layers of microfiber with a layer of bamboo cotton on each side. They are really soft and after I have used the diaper now for a while it absorbs a lot!  They are also longer than most inserts which I like especially at nap time!

-The PUL is doubled in the front for tummy sleepers.  This is a plus for us as little girl has always slept on her tummy!

-The price is fantastic especially for a hand made diaper!  Most of CC Dipes are around $16.00 a piece and she does offer packages where you can buy 6 diapers and save $10!  And all Domestic orders have free shipping!

-It is going to fit most babies from 10-35 pounds.

I really can't find anything that I do not like about this one size pocket diaper from CC Dipes!

You can connect with CC Dipes on Facebook and on etsy

Purchase:  You can make a purchase on CC Dipes Facebook page using soldsie and simply commenting on the picture of the diaper you want to purchase!
You can also purchase through her Etsy Store!

If you see several materials you like you can even do a custom order!

Carie has been so generous and offered my readers a coupon code for 10% off of your orders for one week 8/21-8/28!

Coupon Code:  MIRANDA10

Giveaway:  One reader will win this super cute diaper specially made for this giveaway!  You must be 18 or older and US only please!

I was given this product mentioned in exchange for my 100% honest opinion.  Yours may differ from my own.  Winner will have 48 hours to respond to the wining email or another winner will be drawn.

Boba Baby Wrap

When I was expecting I did not have everything I needed.  I had to buy some items after I had little girl that I did not expect to.  One of them was a baby carrier!  I bought mine used but for this exciting hop I am giving away a Boba Baby Wrap!

What mom or dad wouldn't want to win this to carry her little prince or princess?!
I loved carrying little girl around because she loved to be held and it was so much easier and I wanted to be close to her!
Some other benefits of baby wearing are babies cry less because there is a bond when you are close to them.  I found more information about baby wearing here at Le Leche League!

More about Boba from their website.  The Boba Wrap can be worn from birth until about 18 months.
You'll love the boba wrap because:
  1. gives great support for little heads and necks – especially when your baby falls asleep
  2. your baby fits just perfectly every time! – no guessing how much room you will need to leave for your baby to fit inside without being too tight or too loose
  3. custom fit – simply tie the wrap carrier snug against your body and no matter what body type you are, it will fit!
  4. good quality fabric – heavier cotton knit with a touch of spandex-the ideal material for babywearing
  5. discreet nursing is no problem – no need to take the baby out of the wrap baby carrier or use any special attachments for privacy
  6. your baby’s hips and legs are supported and not just hanging down
  7. no pressure points on your baby – no pressure on developing hips or spines like other hard baby carriers which place pressure on your baby’s pelvis
  8. holds your baby high – the fabric bounces back unlike the t-shirt like material of other stretchy baby wraps to keep your baby snug against your chest
  9. durable – sturdy fabric that doesn’t stretch out or change shape with repeated washing or baby wearing
  10. feels soft on your baby’s skin
  11. adjustable – just enough give so that there is no need for re-adjusting
  12. much more snug than carrying a car seat or other bulky carrier
  13. secure – no wrinkles, bulges of loose material, or sagging when babywearing
  14. grows with you and your baby – it’s optimal for infants yet you may continue to carry your baby with this wrap baby carrier as long as you are both comfortable
  15. no baby is too small – the baby wrap is designed for the tiniest of babies.
  16. ideal for kangaroo care – premature infants thrive when wrapped in a Boba Wrap
  17. one size fits all – adults of all sizes can comfortably wear and share the wrap
  18. bilateral – wide straps over both shoulders so that there is no lopsided feeling like with babywearing in a sling
  19. no time limit to how long your baby can stay in the wrap – there are no pressure points on mom or baby so you may carry your baby as long as you and your baby are comfortable
  20. no digging straps or poking buckles or buttons – simple design
  21. evenly distributes the weight of your baby – much more supported than carrying with your arms, on one shoulder, or your hip
  22. instructions are included – no extras to buy
  23. perfect for traveling – compact and great on uneven terrain or crowded places
  24. cleans up nice – wash, tumble dry and go!
  25. comfortable – moves with you instead of restricting you
  26. affordable – a great value seeing that your baby will probably begin to walk on his own before he outgrows the wrap
  27. natural sleep solution – no plastic, no music, no bouncy seat-just you- calming and soothing your baby with your warmth, your voice, your scent, your movement and your heartbeat. There is no more natural way to put your baby to sleep.
There are some great videos on how to wrap, breastfeed, and ideal wraps for different holds you may use on their website.  Boba Wrap Videos

Babyville Boutique Review and Giveaway

After teaching myself how to sew again and making my own Mama Cloth, I have been wanting to learn how to make cloth diapers for my sweet girl!  Although I still need practice, there is something so rewarding about showing others what I've made!

The Babyville Boutique Company sent me a package to review and I am excited to share it with you!

Above is the package I received to make my diapers!  The books come complete with directions for beginners (Like ME).  Every type of diaper and cover is included in the instruction booklet.  I read the first few pages of the instruction book over a few times to make sure I was ready to begin.  On the right are the fabric choices included.  They are gender neutral and consist of a Playful Friends Monkey PUL, Orange Solid PUL, and Playful Friends Owls printed PUL.  Also included were some very cute appliques and labels, the FOE elastic and EZ adjust tape(Velcro).

My Review

I started with a newborn diaper cover with FOE(fold over elastic).  The instruction book goes step-by-step and even has pictures.  Being a visual person, this really helped me.  I had it by my side as I was working as to not make a mistake.  I made this for my sister who is expecting and is going to use prefolds and covers as newborn diapers.  I did have a model I borrowed for a few minutes so I could show you how it looks!

It really didn't take long for this diaper cover.  I think the most difficult part for me, other than my machine being from 1968, was the elastic.  The first time was the most challenging, but I know if I practice I will get better.  Below is a picture of my handy-work!

How cute is this owl print?!  I think my sister is going to love putting her little girl in this!!

If you were only making newborn size I think you could get at least two from this fabric cut.

Next, I chose to test my skills by making the basic pocket diaper.  It was a one size pattern, but after sewing it and trying it on little girl (18 months about 22 pounds) it was way too big.  I did apply two rows of snaps to the front to fold down so that this would be usable without me having to rip apart the whole diaper.

After cutting my fabrics and getting everything ready it probably took about an hour for this diaper.  I realized after sewing that I did not properly tighten the elastic around the legs,  which is a must as we all know!  The most time consuming part was using the seam ripper to rip all of my hard work!  The second time around was much better.

Below is the pocket style to fit my 18 month old!
I love the added touch of the monkey tag!

Overall, I was pleased with the ease of instructions and the cute materials for the diapers!  Like I mentioned before, I love the instructional pictures that are included as well as their video's on YouTube!  I would definitely purchase this from Babyville Boutique.

About Me

I decided to write this post for those of you who do not really know who I am and why I started a blog.

I am from a fairly small town and I love it and I still live here with my husband and most of my family is still in the area.

My husband and I met online through a Christian dating network!  We will be married three years next week!  We have a beautiful daughter who is 18 months old.  As well as a doggy daughter named Rhema.  My husband is truly a Man of God.  He has a past with alcohol and drugs before we met as do I.  We have both been saved by Grace that only God gives.  He went through discipleship through Teen Challenge and it truly changed his life!  I am so thankful for him even though I might not always tell him or show it.

I have two associates degree's.  One in Culinary and the other in Hotel and Restaurant Management.  I have been in the restaurant business since right out of high school.  I have done just about everything dealing with the aspect of hospitality business.  Although I am young I am a former Restaurant Manager.  After deciding to leave the stressful position I was in I found out we were prego!  I still continued to work serving tables in a local restaurant where I am currently working again now.  Just as I left the management position I got a call to fill a teaching position at the community college where I had graduated from!  For the past 5 semesters I have been teaching in the hospitality department at Guilford Technical Community College.  I have loved it!  They unfortunately only need me this semester as a standby or substitute which is okay with me, that means I can spend every day with little girl and only work nights!

I started Google cloth diapers when I was pregnant.  After a little research I decided that I was definitely going to cloth diaper!  I was planning on going back to work after I had my little girl but after her arrival we decided to make the choice and although it was very difficult financially we made it.

I love entering giveaways because I won a few things it is rather addicting!  After reading and seeing blogs that these reviews were on I decided that I would give it a shot.  I see it as a way of connecting with other mom's and people alike.  An outlet maybe to take me from our living room to a place where other people can connect!

After the birth of little girl I had a rough time recovering from our birth process.  I ended up having a c-section and well I will post the whole story on another post maybe.  I do think I had some depression afterwards.  We did breastfeed until she was 15 months old but now are totally weaned.  And I am so thankful it worked out for us!  About the same time she started sleeping through the night!  Which as we all know that can be very rough on us Mom's!

My main goal is just to have fun and tell my experiences with cloth diapers and how we are trying to live a more organic lifestyle!

Thanks for reading!

Snappy Greens Review

Snappy Greens is a WAHM business that started out making cloth wipes as the owner Rebecca needed to find something to do for herself!  I can definitely relate as I am sure most of you Mom's can.  She moved on to making waist extenders for diapers and now makes items that include, mama cloth pads, unpaper towels, and one size fitted hybrid diapers.

I would love to tell you about the One Size Hybrid Fitted Diaper that I had custom made for my special girl!  I won a $7 credit on Facebook and I could not just pick one thing!  When she had her next stocking on Hyena Cart I purchased this diaper and two cloth pads.

This is the first time I had purchased anything from a WAHM and Rebecca was so accommodating.  She helped me with all of the questions that I had, and it was a few because we are accustomed to using pocket diapers.

I could not wait for the diaper to arrive and it did not take long at all after I placed my order.

This is my diaper!!

First of all, how cute is it?!  Totally! This is a Teal Chevron with Dark Teal Cotton Velour.

Second, it is so soft on the inside.  It did take me a few times looking at the picture to be able to snap it back together but I quickly got the hang of it!

One of the best things I like about this diaper as opposed to the pocket style PUL we are used to is the ability for her bum to breathe especially during these hot summer days!

The only drawback to this style of diaper for me is the poop factor and not having a diaper sprayer the layers can get a little messy when doing the swoosh method(Yuck haha!!)

We actually use it for nap time without a cover (she is not a heavy wetter).

I would love for you to check out her store and she most always has spots for custom diapers if you are looking for something different that not everyone else has!

Ways to connect with Snappy Greens:

Thanks for reading this post and everything I said was totally my own opinion!  I did win the $7 credit but otherwise my money was used to purchase these items discussed.
