The Season of Giving

“Sell your possessions and give to those in need. This will store up treasure for you in heaven! And the purses of heaven never get old or develop holes. Your treasure will be safe; no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it.  Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Luke 12:33-34 NLT

"...You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
Acts 20:35

I meant to post this before Christmas, but didn't get around to it.  Better late than never, right?  I know we hear it often, but it really is better to give than to receive.  We've given to several organizations this year and I wanted to encourage you to do the same.  Find a cause that is near and dear to your heart and go for it!  If you need some suggestions, here are some I believe in:

The Cradle Fund

Crosspoint of India

Courage House Northern California

Samaritan's Purse

Carry the Future

What better way to do that than to make my own herbal remedies, while also saving money in the process!  Think of how quickly it adds up when you go to the store to get a few natural/homeopathic remedies.  I also think this kit is super convenient; you don't have to research and purchase all of the ingredients and supplies individually because it's all prepared for you!  The lessons are simple and informative; perfect for the beginner (that's me!).

Are you ready to try your hand at herbalism and get your own kit?!  If so, you're in luck! Organic Beauty Junkie {Review}

Maryann, the owner of Organic Beauty Junkie reached out to me to see if I would be interested in trying her all natural deodorant.  I informed her that I'm a bit of a natural deodorant connoisseur, and that I've tried several that haven't cut it.  I was apprehensive, but I decided to go ahead and give it a try- read on to see my thoughts!

First, a little about Maryann: she loved playing with makeup and painting her nails as a child (what girl doesn't?!).  As she grew older, she realized that mainstream products are filled with harmful chemicals.  She became passionate about creating natural products for friends and family.  Something you might not know about Maryann is that she was born with a physical disability.  This has made finding employment difficult.  She hopes to be able to employ others with disabilities one day, and I think that's a great idea!

The deodorant is available in various scents including: Bergamot, Orange, Orange Vanilla, Lavender Vanilla, Tea Tree and Unscented.   It comes packed in a cute canning jar (if you're a sucker for things with charm, you'll love this aspect too!).  I appreciate that you can purchase samples of the deodorant before buying a full size.

Ingredients: organic arrowroot powder, virgin organic coconut oil, aluminum free baking soda, organic essential oils.

I tested the Lavender Vanilla deodorant for two weeks to try it in different scenarios.  The scent is great; If you enjoy both lavender and vanilla, this is perfect for you!  I noticed it is a little crumbly straight out of the jar.  To help with a smooth application, I scooped it out and rubbed it between my fingers to warm it up.  It took a bit of time for the deodorant to be absorbed into the skin, but once that happened I was good to go.  I'm happy to report that it kept me stink free for the whole day!  Please note it does contain baking soda, so if you're prone to irritation you might choose to try a sample first.  I didn't experience any redness or irritation though!

Check out all of the products Organic Beauty Junkie offers on Etsy!  And be sure to connect on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+ and Pinterest!

Sign up for their email list on their website to stay informed!

Maryann has generously offered free shipping on orders over $20!  This deal is only valid for 24 hours!  Use code "FKIL6IRRV8JG" to make a purchase on

I was sent this product in exchange for my opinion.  All thoughts are my own!

Rivertree Life Aluminum Inhaler Review

I received a product in exchange of my own personal opinion.

I was first introduced to the Rivertree Life company when an essential oil safety page I follow (Lea Harris) introduced one of their products.  I just happened to share the wooden storage box on my personal facebook page and a very special friend got it for me for my birthday the next month!  (Yay!)

Rivertree Life features products to store and use essential oils, diy lip balms and much more.  They have various products but specialize in making them functional and beautiful!

I was thrilled to learn more and start using more of their products when they sent me this set of personal inhalers.  I just started using essential oils a year ago so I am not the most well versed in that area.  Inhaling oil seemed kinda strange to me at first until I found out it can be one of the most effective ways to use them.

The aluminum inhalers are great to take a long in your purse especially when you get a headache for instance.  I put peppermint on mine and use it for such a case!  They are very easy to fill.  Simply disassemble, put a few drops on your cotton wick and close back up.  You can refill them with the same oil or buy new wicks to change out for the oil of your choice.

More information on how to use the personal inhaler can be found on the Rivertree Life website here

Another reason to support Rivertree Life is that they are a christian based company.  I will gladly shop with them anytime!  You can read more about the company and how they got started here.

Overall, I am glad to keep my inhaler in my purse for on the go.  It is not only very pretty but does the job I need it to do!

You can connect with Rivertree Life on their website and Facebook.

What are your favorite oils to use in the diffuser or inhaler?  I would love to know!

J.R. Liggett's Natural Bar Shampoo Review

I received a product in exchange for my honest opinion.

I have been trying to buy or make my own natural bath and body products for a while now, but seem to have trouble finding a natural way to wash my hair.  My sister gave me a shampoo bar for my birthday last year.  Ever since then I have not looked into getting another container of shampoo, but rather I prefer washing with a simple bar!

When I ran out of the one she had given me I went to a local co-op and purchased the one from J.R.Liggett.  I loved it so much that I wrote to them and they sent me more to review!  Before trying shampoo bars I was really skeptical; the idea of a bar on my hair seemed weird.

I was sent the Shaving Foam, and a set of two Original Bars with a Wooden Shelf.
The Shaving Foam has a foams well, but I rarely shave my legs so I ended up letting my husband try it for shaving his head.  He said it had a good feel and did a great job.  In my opinion, the scent is slightly masculine.  There are no detergents or SLS which makes it great for anyone to use!

I was so happy to get the wooden shelf to keep my soap from melting away in the shower.  Along with it was two of the Original Shampoo Bars.  The ingredient list is a mere seven ingredients!  All made from natural oils and GMO free.

What I like about this bar:

-Lathers up very well.  Simply wet your hair then wet the bar and apply bar straight to hair.

-No need for conditioner in most hair.  For me, however, being around a wood heater and a very dry winter required applying conditioner once a week.

-One bar lasts approximately the same amount as a 24oz bottle of shampoo.  So for me using one bar every day it lasted about two months.

-Having natural ingredients it makes my hair very soft and manageable.

-It is great to travel with and they even have a travel pouch available

You can purchase from their website and can find it in some stores.  Also you may connect with them on Facebook and Twitter.

Overall, I am very pleased with the original bar and would love to try the others offered especially the Virgin Coconut and Argan Oil bar!  I'm glad I took the leap and tried something out of the box- or bottle in this case, and I will probably never buy a bottle of shampoo again.

Have you tried shampoo bars before?  If not, what are you waiting for?!

ACURE Organics baby line {Review & Giveaway}

I've been a fan of ACURE ever since I first discovered them!  I recall running out of body lotion and browsing the aisles at my local Whole Foods for something new to try.  ACURE was appealing because it's an affordable line.  And let's face it- who wants to spend an arm and a leg on something if you're not sure you'll like it?!  Once I tried their body lotion I was sold.  A natural brand that is accessible, affordable, and actually works!  Since then, I've tried many ACURE products and loved them all.  Their range of products include skin care, lip care, body care, and hair care.  They recently expanded their line to include baby care- which I'm going to tell you all about!

bare baby 4-in-1 foamer

I've said it before, and I'll say it again- I love a good multitasking product!  This wash can be used as a bubble bath, shampoo, body wash, and hand soap.  I think every mama wants (and needs) a wash like this for their little ones.  Bath time is a breeze with the large foam pump bottle.  I really appreciate unscented as an option for babies and kids because scents can sometimes be irritating to their sensitive bodies.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Decyl Glucoside, Coco-glucoside, Glyceryl oleate, Sodium Levulinate, Potassium Sorbate, Glycerin, Organic Coco Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Organic Cathamus tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber), Roman Anthemis Noblis (Chamomile) Flower, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Sodium Phytate, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum.

baby fix it stick

This stick is USDA certified organic and it's meant to heal baby's boo-boos.  I think a stick application is just plain awesome!  For starters, it's convenient and ideal for keeping in the diaper bag.  It also makes application super simple; just swipe it on and rub it in!  I used this on my daughter's face (she tends to get dry skin on her cheeks) and any little scratches that appeared.  The scent is very mild and it glides easily onto the skin.

Ingredients: Organic Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Organic Cera Alba (Beeswax), Organic Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Organic Ricinus Communis (Castor) Oil, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Organic Olea Europea (Olive) Oil, Organic Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Organic Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Flower Oil, Organic Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Oil, Organic Borago Officinalis (Borage) Seed Oil, Organic Cucubita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil, Tocopherol.

baby sun spf stick

We've used this stick quite a bit since receiving it.  Its scent is mild with hints of vanilla and orange.   It's perfect for on-the-go!  My daughter has such fair skin and I like to protect it whenever we're out in the sun.  The formula appears white when applied, but rubs in easily.

Ingredients: organic cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, organic helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, organic cera alba (beeswax), euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, organic rincinus communis (castor) oil, organic copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, organic butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, organic theobroma cocoa (cocoa) seed butter, organic calendula officinalis (calendula) flower oil, organic symphytum officinale (comfrey root) oil, organic punica granatum (pomegrante ( seed oil, organic borago officinalis (borage) seed oil, organic curcubita pepo (pumpkin) seed oil, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, organic citrus sinensis (sweet orange) peel oil, organic vanilla flavor oil, tocopherol, organic aloe barbadensis (aloe) aloe leaf juice.

baby bug stick

I haven't had to use this stick a ton, but I really enjoyed the fresh scent.  It glides on the skin and rubs in easily.  It must be effective because all of the bugs stayed away!

Ingredients: Organic Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Organic Cera Alba (Beeswax), Organic Cocs Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Organic Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Organic Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Organic Cymbopogon Nardus (Citronella) Oil, Organic Eucalyptus Globus (Eucaluptus) Oil, Organic Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Organic Cedrus Antlantica (Cedarwood) Oil, Organic Geranium oil, Organic Cymbopogon Flexuosus (Lemongrass) Oil, Tocopherol, Organic Punic Granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Oil, Organic Borago Officinalis (Borage) Seed Oil, Organic Curcubita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil.

yummy baby lotion

This lotion is scented with vanilla and citrus, and is not overpowering.  It keeps my daughter's skin soft and supple!  I enjoyed using this on her during the daytime if she had dry skin and needed a little extra moisture.

Purified Water, Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Organic Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Isoamyl Laurate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Sodium Levulinate, Potassium Sorbate, Olive Oil Polyglyceryl-4 Esters, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Natural Flavor, Tocopherol, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber), Roman Anthemis Noblis (Chamomile) Flower, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Sodium Phytate, Citric Acid.

baby bare lotion

I prefer to use this lotion on my daughter after her bath at night.  I think unscented is always a safe option for new little babes and anyone with sensitive skin.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Organic Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Isoamyl Laurate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Sodium Levulinate, Potassium Sorbate, Olive Oil Polyglyceryl-4 Esters, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Tocopherol, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber), Roman Anthemis Noblis (Chamomile) Flower, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Sodium Phytate, Citric Acid.

Overall, I think ACURE has a great collection of baby products and I definitely recommend them!  My daughter hasn't had any adverse reactions since using them and she adores the bright colors and fun images on the packaging!

Meow Meow Tweet {Baby line Review}

When I discovered that Meow Meow Tweet launched a new line of products for baby, I contacted them immediately.  They kindly sent me a sample/travel size of each of the 5 products.  Read on to see my thoughts!

If this is the first you've heard of Meow Meow Tweet, let me tell you a little about the brand.  It's a small-batch apothecary in Brooklyn, NY founded by Jeff Kurosaki and Tara Pelletier.  The pair met in art school and started the company in 2009 after being gifted a bar of handmade soap.  I know you're wondering about the company's name; It comes from their two cats and Jeff's bird back in his home state of Hawaii- how sweet!

Since I'm a former Pastry Chef, I love that Tara utilizes skills from her background in the culinary world to create and develop the products!  As vegans, Tara and Jeff formulate their products using purely all-natural plant and mineral-based ingredients.  They use absolutely no animal-derived ingredients, so Meow Meow Tweet's products are free of carmine, beeswax, honey, palm oil, lanolin and tallow and are Leaping Bunny cruelty-free certified.

Baby Bath Wash

This is a super gentle wash that can be used for baby's hair and body.  The less products I need to juggle while bathing a squirmy child, the better.  The formula is moisturizing, lathers well, and the sweet orange + lavender scent is perfection!  Little miss L was left with clean, baby soft skin after bath time.  I really appreciate that MMT offers it in a plastic pump foaming bottle for ease of use AND a glass bottle for those who are trying to limit the use of plastic.

aqua (water), *cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, *helianthus annuus (sunflower) oil, *ricinus communis (castor) oil, citric acid, +potassium hydroxide, *vegetable glycerin, *rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, *citrus sinensis (sweet orange) essential oil, *lavandula officinalis (lavender) essential oil

*certified organic ingredient / +none remains after saponifying oils

Baby Body Balm

This can be used all over baby's body but also works well as a preventative diaper rash cream.  You can mix it at a 1:1 ratio with the baby powder to create an effective diaper rash remedy.   And guess what mamas?!  It's cloth diaper safe!  Yay!  The scent is mild and I love that it can be used anywhere- on baby or mama!

*mangifera indica (mango) butter, *helianthus annuus (sunflower) oil, *simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil, *sesamum indicum (sesame) oil, infused with *matricaria chamomilia (chamomile), *calendula officinalis (calendula), *plantago major (plantain), *althea officinalis (marshmallow) root, euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, *rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract

*certified organic ingredient

Baby Body Oil

The body oil is similar in scent to the body cream.  It's not overpowering and is free of essential oils, which can irritate some people.   I think a body oil is perfect for using right after bath time while the skin is damp to allow it to sink in effortlessly.  This is ideal for massaging baby as well!  I even used a little for "styling" my daughter's hair!

*persea gratissima (avocado) oil, *helianthus annuus (sunflower) oil , *simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil, *sesamum indicum (sesame) oil, infused with *matricaria chamomilia (chamomile), *calendula officinalis (calendula), *plantago major (plantain), *althea officinalis (marshmallow) root, *rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract

*certified organic ingredient

Baby Body Powder

The body powder is incredibly light and effective at absorbing extra moisture wherever needed.  I enjoyed using it during diaper changes because I would take a whiff before I sprinkled it.  Lavender + Tea Tree = calming and soothing!

*maranta arudinacea (arrowroot) powder, kaolin clay, zinc oxide, *lavandula officinalis (lavender) essential oil, *melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) essential oil

*certified organic ingredient

Cocoa Skin Cream

The skin cream is rich and creamy (as the name implies).  While it is a thick cream, it melts on contact with your skin and rubs in easily.  It's formulated with only four wonderful ingredients and without essential oils.  I personally really enjoy the cocoa butter scent!  My daughter tends to get red, rosy cheeks and dry patches from time to time.  I found this worked well in soothing, moisturizing, and healing her skin.

*cocoa butter (butyrospermum parkii), *butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, *cannabis sativa (hempseed) oil, *helianthus annuus (sunflower) oil

*certified organic ingredient

Overall, I was definitely impressed with each of these products and highly recommend you go ahead and buy them NOW for your little one OR as a welcome baby gift for someone else.  While these baby products are a little more pricey, the ingredients and quality are superior and it shows!

Be sure to follow Meow Meow Tweet on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr to stay up-to-date on products and promotions!

I was sent these products in exchange for my opinion.  All thoughts are my own!

Songcroft Naturals Review: Frankincense Rose Cream

Songcroft Naturals is a family-owned business in Snohomish, Washington.  Marilene Richardson is the Owner and Chief Formulator and she learned the importance of natural living at an early age.  After becoming ill and extremely chemically sensitive, she made it her mission to create her own line of natural personal care products.

Something that sets Songcroft Naturals apart from other natural skincare brands is that they grow many of their ingredients on their farm using organic practices.  "SongCroft is a working permaculture farm with bees, dairy goats, chickens, fruit trees, and lots of culinary as well as medicinal herbs and vegetables. Permaculture is a design system based on ethics and principles which can be used to establish, design, manage and improve all efforts made by individuals, households and communities towards a sustainable future."

The Frankincense Rose Cream was formulated to encourage healthy skin and this is what we all strive for, right?!  I would say it's a light to medium weight moisturizer.  The consistency is thin, but it definitely leaves my skin hydrated.  The scent is delicate and not overpowering at all.  It works well under makeup and provides a smooth base for foundation.  Marilene also suggested using it as a base for a DIY foundation!  Check out her post for details.  I tend to use lots of face oils, but it's nice to have a cream moisturizer for a change.

Ingredients: Water, Aloe perryi (Aloe Vera), Prunus americana (Apricot) oil, Cocos nucifera (Coconut) oil, Sodium benzoate, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl alcohol, Sodium stearoyl lactylate, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Organic Soy Lecithin, Cera alba (Beeswax), Rosa damascens (Rose) Flower Distilate, Boswellia carteri (Frankencense), Pelargonium gaveolens (Rose Geranium), Canaga odorate (Ylang Ylang), Citrus medica limonium (lemon), Rosa rubiginosa (Rose Hip) oil

I must admit I didn't recognize some of the ingredients and had to look them up.   I used EWG as a reference and all of the ingredients in question scored a 1 or below, with the exception of Sodium Benzoate (it scored a 3).

Marilene provided this information to clarify further: "...sodium benzoate is a food grade preservative.  We use it in conjunction with the radish lacto-ferment to provide a broad spectrum preservative against bacteria and fungus.  It should also be noted the cetearyl alcohol is different than other alcohols. It is an emulsion stabilizer and is not drying.  Sodium stearoyl lactylate is not from dairy and is a salt that helps in emulsifying.  Sodium benzoate is also an emulsifying ingredient. These ingredients help the cream ingredients to not separate."

"...we choose to practice truth in labeling and provide all names using INCI standards.. Some of our ingredients are not legally required to be listed as they are at such a small amount but we do list them because it is the right thing to do."

Songcroft Naturals has generously offered a 10% discount AND free shipping using the code "gsgigi" at checkout!  They have a wide range of products, so check them out!

Be sure to connect with Songcroft Naturals on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and Google+ for updates!

I was given this product in exchange for my opinion.  All thoughts are my own!

moss: skincare {Review and Giveaway}

I discovered moss on Instagram and I'm so glad I did.  Moss is a luxury, organic skincare line that harnesses the power of Nature + bliss + ritual to create and sustain beauty.  Celestyna, the creator, shares so much more about the line here, so please check it out!  I had the pleasure of reviewing two products: the Beurre Céleste Honey Oil Cleanser + Mask and the Goddess Bikini Soothing Serum.  Read on to see why these two are quickly becoming favorites!

The Beurre Céleste Honey Oil Cleanser + Mask is incredibly decadent.  Beurre Céleste was formulated to gently exfoliate, tone, heal, combat bacteria, and clear congested pores.  Oh, and it also has anti-aging + anti-wrinkle properties thanks to the kokum butter.

I'm not sure why I haven't jumped on the oil cleansing bandwagon earlier, but my skin is loving it!  Beurre Céleste is amazing at removing makeup and my skin is literally glowing after use.  Unlike the typical oil cleansing method that only uses a blend of oils, this cleanser also includes honey, kokum seed butter, beeswax, and more!  I truly enjoy the calming ritual of cleansing my face and look forward to it at the end of the day.  The nutty scent and massaging it into my skin; placing a warm towel over my face to open pores, breathe, and just relax.  I think this product is definitely effective and I can only imagine how beneficial it would be to use a complete moss skincare regimen!

raw honey, macadamia ternifolia (macadamia) nut oil, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, garcinia indica (kokum) seed butter, beeswax, lecithin, myrtus communis (myrtle) oil, citrus aurantium amara (petitgrain) leaf oil, neroli oil, citrus medica limonum (lemon) peel oil

Now let's talk about the Goddess Bikini Soothing Serum, shall we?!  I would call this product a MUST HAVE for summer.  I think we often forget to moisturize our bikini area, so having a special product designated for the job is always a good idea.

I just happened to wax right before receiving this, so it couldn't have been more timely!  I applied it and redness from waxing diminished and my skin was more calm and soothed.  I can say without a doubt that it helped to minimize ingrown hairs.  And the scent is so lovely.  It's like a sweet smelling perfume for your bikini area.  It also absorbs into the skin rather easily.

grapeseed oil, tamanu oil, rosehip oil, olive oil, therapeutic EO blend (rose geranium, bergamot, coriander + others)

This product is so exclusive, it's currently not listed on their site!  If you're interested in purchasing a bottle, feel free to email Celestyna at

Kidsme Review and Giveaway

Kidsme offers silicone food feeders, bottles, and more for little ones.  From their site: We strive to come up with creative, easy-to-use products that you and your little one will enjoy as you discover, learn and play together.  Kidsme kindly sent their First Toothbrush Set for us to try.  Miranda tested it on baby M, so please read on to see our thoughts!

The First Toothbrush Set is available in Pink & Purple and Green & Blue.  The set is BPA free, which is something we appreciate and look for in baby products.  I like that the set includes two different styles of brushes.  One is more similar a regular toothbrush with bristles on top, and the other has soft bristles all around the tip.  The set is recommended for age 6 months and up.

You can begin brushing your baby's teeth before the first tooth appears!  It's important to do so to remove sugars and bacteria that can lead to future decay.  I also think it's good to start this habit early so baby won't mind brushing later on in life :)

When testing the toothbrushes, Miranda noticed they seemed a little more firm than the finger toothbrush she had been using.  One plus is that baby M can't bite her finger when she's using the Kidsme set!   Baby M seemed to like the toothbrushes and didn't mind having her teeth brushed. Miranda also said they help baby M feel like her big sis with a big girl toothbrush!

Overall, we like and recommend the Kidsme First Toothbrush Set!  Now for the fun part!  Kidsme has offered to give a set away to one lucky reader!  Please enter below :)

The giveaway is open to readers in the US only 18 years of age and older.  To enter simply fill out the form in giveaway tools.  The winner will have 48 hours to respond to the winning email or another winner will be drawn.

Pong Case Review and Giveaway

You just purchased a new phone.  What's the next thing to consider?  A new phone case!  Gone are the days of having just another average cell phone case!  We as consumers should expect more and Pong case has definitely delivered.  Their cases have technology built-in to redirect cell phone radiation away from your body.  How awesome is that?! Pong has shared studies and articles related to cell phone radiation on their site.  It's worth looking into if you have a few minutes!

Here's how their technology works- "Pong cases are embedded with a patented, micro thin, gold-plated antenna, that reduces exposure to potentially harmful cell phone radiation while maintaining the phone’s signal. The Pong antenna couples with the antenna in your phone and redirects radiation away from you."

Let's face it- In this day and age we all spend lots of time on our phones.  I mean how many times a day do you text and check your email and social media accounts?  I feel it's important to protect ourselves (and our children) as much as possible against environmental toxins;  And since we constantly carry our phones having a case such as this is crucial.

Pong currently offer cases for iphone, ipad, and Samsung Galaxy users.  The cases are available in two styles: classic and rugged.  I was sent the classic case in white for my iphone 6.  I love the sleek, minimal design and how thin it is.  I was worried the classic case wouldn't be sturdy enough, but I was wrong.  The material is not flimsy and it provides a snug fit; It was actually difficult to remove from my phone!

Pong boasts protection from 4' to 6.6' drops and they are drop-tested to U.S. military specifications.  I didn't test this out yet, but I'm sure I will accidentally drop it soon enough.  Pong also claims that their cases will not weaken your signal.  They must be doing something right because I haven't had an issue with my phone signal at all since using my case.

Overall, I'm really pleased with the classic Pong case.  It has everything I was looking for: protection, slim design, and durability.  I would recommend it to anyone in need of a new case.  Lucky for you, Pong has generously offered a giveaway for one case of choice!

The giveaway is open to readers in the US only 18 years of age and older.  To enter simply fill out the form in giveaway tools.  The winner will have 48 hours to respond to the winning email or another winner will be drawn.

Ashleybug Organics Feature

We've been a fan of Ashleybug Organics since my daughter was a young baby!  Ashley, the creator of Ashleybug, makes the cutest organic cotton bibs and burp cloths.  She recently expanded her line to include organic cotton onesie and ruffle diaper cover sets.

She kindly sent me the Tea Party set for Liv.  How cute is this print?!  I think it's perfect for Spring and Summer!  The onesie is hand painted and the ruffle diaper cover is a custom print.  Ashleybug currently offers a Dragonfly print set as well.

Whenever I can, I like to purchase organic cotton clothing for my daughter to ensure only the most pure fabrics are touching her skin.  I highly recommend Ashleybug because the quality of the pieces is amazing and customer service is excellent!

Chocolate Truffle Disks

Here is a quick and simple recipe for when a sweet tooth strikes, which let's face it, is every day.

Ingredients you most likely have on hand:

1/2 c Coconut Oil
1/4 c Cocoa Powder (OR PB2- it's a powdered peanut butter.  I haven't tried this yet, but if you do- let me know!)
1 Tablespoon Maple Syrup
1/3 Vanilla Bean OR 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Toppings of choice- No need to measure, just sprinkle as much or as little as you like!:
Dried fruit
Cocoa nibs

The possibilities are endless!  I used almonds and coconut this time for a healthy almond joy-esque treat.

Melt the coconut oil.  Add in the cocoa powder, maple syrup, and vanilla of choice.   I like to use an immersion blender to mix it, but if you don't have one of those a food processor would work.  Whisking by hand is a last resort if you must.  Blend until it's a beautiful homogenous mixture!

Pour in molds of choice (I like silicone for ease of popping out).  Sprinkle on toppings.

Let set in fridge.

Pop out and eat.

 {As you can see, they were still a little cold from being in the fridge.  I prefer to let them sit out at room temp before eating so they soften up a bit.}

I hope you enjoy this recipe and be sure to let us know if you make them!

Klurskin Skincare Review

I stumbled upon Klurskin on Instagram and I was immediately drawn to their clear, modern packaging.  I love the minimalistic look.  It just screams "clean" to me.  Klurskin kindly offered to send me some products to try and share my experience with you!

First- a little background on the brand; Klurskin is a small family business in Los Angeles.  They "believe that natural, botanical ingredients are the key to beautiful skin."

Rose & White Tea Gentle Glycolic Cleanser

This cleanser has a very light scent, not overpowering at all.  It's an outstanding makeup remover.  Just to note- I remove my mascara prior to washing my face, so I haven't tried using it to remove mascara.  My skin definitely feels clean after use, but not overly dry or tight.  Glycolic acid is used to help exfoliate and aid in cell turnover.  It is formulated for combo, oily and/or acneic skin types.  I like this cleanser, but I think their other cleanser (Gentle Hydrating Cleanser) might suit my skin better for the winter months.  For me, washing once a day (at night) with this has worked well.

It contains 100% natural and 65% organic ingredients.

Active Ingredients: Glycolic Acid 5% (AHA), Organic Salix Alba 2.8% (Salicylic Acid BHA)
Other Ingredients: Water, Aloe Barbadensis Juice (Aloe Vera), Organic Rose Mosqueta Extract, Organic White Tea Extract, Organic Yucca Extract, Decyl Glucoside, Allantion, Glycerin. *ORGANIC INGREDIENTS

Green Tea + Chamomile Essential Nutrients Serum

This serum is formulated to relieve redness and irritation and helps with rosacea, eczema, and sensitive skin.  It's like a daily vitamin for your skin and it's very easily absorbed.  I used 3 drops for my whole face and I enjoyed the fresh scent.  I love how it adds a little moisture and extra oomph to my skincare routine.  It just feels like I'm doing something good for my face!

It contains 100% natural and 75% organic ingredients.

Ingredients: *Aloe, Distilled Water, *Green Tea, *White Tea Extract, *Chamomile Flower Extract, *Thyme, *Sage Leaf, *Botanical Hyaluronic Acid, *Lavender Oil, *Chamomile Flower Extract, *Marigold Extract, Vitamin K, Vitamin C Ester, Tocopherol Vitamin E, Coenzyme-Q10, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Vitamin B Complex, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin. *ORGANIC INGREDIENTS

Rosemary + Willow Oil Control Serum

This gel serum is formulated to help control oil and tighten pores, so it is best for oily and acneic skin types.  It has an earthy eucalyptus scent.  I have been using it in my T-zone and as a spot treatment, and it's been working well for me.  A little goes a long way- I literally use one drop.  Keep in mind, you can use it all over your face if you have more oily skin.

It contains 100% natural and 70% organic ingredients.

*Aloe, Distilled Water, *Willow Bark, *Rosemary Leaf Extract, *Lavender Oil, *Green Tea Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Co-Enzyme Q10, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Vitamin B Complex, Vitamin C Ester, Tocopherol *(Vitamin E), Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin. *ORGANIC INGREDIENTS

Organic Fusion Radiance Oil

The Fusion Radiance oil has a great blend of oils in it.  It's scented with Lemongrass essential oil making it an uplifting aromatherapy experience when applied.  It only takes a few drops (unless you have very dry skin), and it blends in and absorbs well.  You can also use it on your hair and nails.   Hello, multitasking!  Who doesn't need more products like that?!

It contains 100% natural and 90% organic ingredients.

Ingredients: *Squalene, *Rose-Hips Seed Oil, *Argan Oil, *Carrot Seed Oil, *Avocado Oil, *Safflower Oil, *Sea-Buckthorn, *Borage Seed Oil, Silk Amino Acids, *Marigold Extract, *Green-Tea Extract, *Cucumber Extract, *Tangerine Essential Oil, *Lemongrass Essential Oil, *Neroli Essential Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate-Vitamin E, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides. *ORGANIC INGREDIENTS
