Baby's First Foods {A Happy Family Review and Giveaway}

*All opinions are my own I was given product for my honest review.  While I talk about starting solids with my own child, please follow advice from your child’s pediatrician regarding starting solids.

I can't believe it is time for Baby M to start on solids!  Where did the time go?!  Well, like my toddler we waited until 6 months to start introducing week by week on solid food.  There are so many different ways to introduce food but for me we start with the cereals and then go from there.  Let's face it, normally it takes a few weeks for baby to get the hang of eating something other than mama's milk (or at least for my kids).

We loved Happy Baby pouches and cereals with our first daughter so when I had the chance to review some of their offerings I was thrilled to share it with you all.  They recommend as well as the pediatrician to start with rice cereal.

However, I decided to begin with the oatmeal mixed with breast milk (you can of course do formula).  Baby M moved on from there to apple, banana, sweet potato and carrots.  I introduced a new one every maybe 3 or 4 days and so far so good as far as watching for any reactions.  This week we are trying the multigrain cereal that has DHA and Probiotics.  I am hoping the probiotics will help little girl keep these colds away that keep circling our house!

Baby M doesn’t seem really interested in food when I offer but when my husband keeps her at night while I work part time she seems to eat more.  I think she just knows and is a little confused as to why I am not offering the breast!  I plan to use some of the ideas of Baby Led weaning but have not really looked into it yet.  I am guessing it’s much like what my mom did except it did not have a fancy name.  She would just feed us whatever she and my dad were eating out of the garden and when we began to get teeth she would move to meats and such.

While I love my refillable pouches for toddler at home, Happy Baby pouches and snacks are awesome to have out and on vacations and even for busy moms (who isn’t).  They are convenient, don’t need refrigeration when unopened, are organic and good for your little one!

Overall, I am very pleased with the Happy Family line of foods for baby and the whole family!  I would love to hear your tips on baby’s first foods!

Happy Family is being generous and offering one reader a chance to win the same package I received to review worth $25.00 (I received only coupons and redeemed them so the flavors of foods will differ).

The giveaway is open to readers in the US only 18 years of age and older.  To enter simply fill out the form in giveaway tools.  The winner will have 48 hours to respond to the winning email or another winner will be drawn.

Again, I was given products in exchange for my personal opinion and please consult your child's DR when starting out with solids as each child is different!
